Posts: 2,676 | hd dvd drive licensing so i was connected to xbox live last night trying to download something. i figured i would watch a movie as it did it. i threw in knocked up into the hd dvd drive (it is one of those hybrid dvd's with hddvd on one side, and normal on the other). so it's going along on the high def side, no issues, then suddenly it stops and says i don't have the proper licensing or something, then kicks me back to my desk top. What the hell is that? i think it was because i was connect to live, still not sure why it would do it though. anyone seen this? it's a simple fix, just don't be connected, but that it some weird crap. how could it not have proper licensing? its a dvd i rented from netflix.
and one other thing: does the hd dvd drive have some cache or something? if you go to the memory tab under the system blade, it says the drive has 200 megs or so. regular hd dvds seem to load up fine, but those hybrid ones take 30 or 40 seconds to start, and even has a loading screen. i think they put something on the memory storage on that hd dvd drive, because it had a couple 'unknown' save files on there. |
