Default Xbox Support - Help!

Hi All,

Okay, what follows is the email back-and-forth thats been carrying on for a while now. I've put it in chronological order below:

1st Mail (Sent through the website after numerous mails to numerous xbox.com and microsoft.com mails got no reply - reason I attempted to send to several @ms.com and @xbox.com accounts was that xbox.com was not accessible from South Africa for two weeks.

Hi There,

I live in South Africa, and on my way home from England in June I purchased an XBOX360 at the HMV in the Duty Free at Heathrow.

Everything went well until the xbox started playing up about a month ago.

It has gotten to a stage where I cannot load up any games, nor watch any movies off discs. Movies off a flash drive work fine though.

Where and how can I sort this out? Is there a local (cape town, south africa) place I can visit/send it to? What are the costs involved? Obviously I cannot go back to where I purchased the Xbox...

I'm really upset because for a South African an Xbox360 costs a lot of money (a lot more than the average persons monthly salary), and I buy all lots of games to show my support for the brand and the product.

Where and how can I get this sorted?

I've tried visiting your website for the last 2 weeks but the internet in South Africa is dubious at best, and I haven't been able to get onto xbox.com until now.

Your urgent attention is appreciated,

Yours,

Darryn

3rd Mail : My Reply

Hi,

Haven't I contacted Xbox Customer Support Team already? I thought thats what I'd done already.

Also, this is wrong: Location: en-gb - English (United Kingdom)

It's actually: Location en-za - English (South Africa)

Also, for some bizarre reason I cannot link my credit card to my Xbox Live account and buy Microsoft Points. You guys must have lost out on hundreads of thousands of dollars because no-one in SA can buy points... just a lil FYI. There must be tens of thousands of people here with Xbox's who want to buy stuff off the marketplace. Are we ever going to get the attention we deserve? Or do the so-called "numbers" just not justify putting in the little extra effort?

It's a pity that we get pushed aside as a third world country. We really aren't, I promise... Just ask the guys at the Microsoft Cape Town office.

So do you guys need further information from me? If so, what information?

This is infuriating. Maybe I should switch to Sony, they at least have some semblance of customer support here in Sunny South Africa. I mean I can't stand Sony, nor what they stand for, nor the way they do business, nor their (in my opinion) inferior console, but what else can someone in my position do...

I just feel sorry for all the Sony fanboys I've convinced to get an Xbox360 instead of a PS3. They gonna ***** and moan when their consoles pack in like mine and realise they have to deal with a support team that doesn't give a damn about them.

Swak.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Darryn.

5th Mail: My Reply

Dude,

Seriously? I have contacted Xbox Customer Support Team! Thats what I've done! Why do you keep telling me to contact them (you) when thats what I've been doing?????

This is bullsh*t. It's been broken for weeks now and it's an expensive piece of hardware. Where the hell is my assistance?

Can you pass this up the line to a manager or something please. I mean after a few days waiting I just get the exact same reply from you guys! Come on now, sort it out!

Thanks again,

Darryn.

Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support.
Due to privacy and security issues all Billing and Refund queries must be handled by telephone. Please call Xbox 360 Customer Support to resolve this matter.

7th Mail: My Reply

Dear Mr. Dude?

Now you're just being cheeky.

Okay, please give me a South African phone number to contact them on.

I don't see how this is a billing or refund query, I just want my Xbox to work like it did for months. I don't want to have to put my hella expensive games into it and not be able to load any levels or have to deal with glitches, missing textures and weird errors like that.

I look forward to your assistance.

Darryn.

------------------------------------------------------------

What do you guys suggest I do? I'm at wits end. Really I am. The level of service is shocking! Am I ever going to get the help I so desperately need?

Anyone have any ideas as to a path I can follow here?

Id send a hand written letter to Microsoft in Cape Town. At least you won't get an automated response, which is what all of them are.

Send them pornographic pictures and see if they have such a witty remark after that! Their "customer support" is ridiculous. If I lived by their headquarters I would probably torch the place.
