Posts: 1,078 | Few 360 Problems For a little over a month now I've been getting a single red light when I turn it on. The console says E 68 and some error message about contacting support. Reboot gets rid of it. Apparently this is some type of hard drive malfunction.
When I turn my console on I also noticed that sometimes it will make abnormally loud or quiet noises, I have no idea what causes them as none of the environment really changes.
Sometimes my disc tray won't open/close and I have to wiggle it to get it to work.
Every once in a while I'll get the error that says I need to put the disc in an XBOX 360 console.
A little over a week ago my hard drive got corrupted or something. I couldn't access any of my old data (gamer profiles, game saves, etc.) although the system itself worked fine. I was still able to play all of my music. When I checked the memory it said that a lot of space was still being taken up on my hard drive, which means that it wasn't erased, more I just can't access it at all. So I shut off the console, took out the hard drive, put it back in, same problem.
Since then I've just re-created my gamer profile and have played like nothing happened, although I still can't access any of my old game saves or anything.
I'm reluctant to call support as I don't know whether my warranty is active. Last year I had an old 360 sent in, I get it back, it has these problems, but by now my warranty is over I believe, or does it renew since I got a 360 back from them?
