Default Xbox Live ICS

Hello Planet Xbox 360 Community Forum Members,

My name is xSN1PERxEL1TEx, and so is my GT

Before anyone points me to another thread, I searched and only found this:

http://forums.planetxbox360.com/xbox...ease-help.html

I did read this, however it did not help me fully. Here is my current setup:

Modem>Router>PC>Xbox

My modem is connected to router, and my PC uses wireless adapter to connect. Then my Xbox uses a crossover cable to connect to my PC via ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). My problem? It lags like a ***** :

My NAT is moderate, but I checked this page for compatible Xbox Live routers:

Xbox.com | Connect to Xbox Live - Compatible Home Networking Equipment

And mine is listed. My router is a Linksys WRT54G, and it is indeed found. There is also a link to it:

Xbox.com | Connect to Xbox Live - Linksys WRT54G

So, how can I change my NAT setting to open? I configured my router, so now the ports are all forwarded. I am OK with the computer and technology in general, but updating a router's firmware seems a bit hard, but I don't know. Thank you, and if I was unclear about anything please don't hesitate to reply!

I seem to hear that it's faster to plug straight into the modem, instead of using your PC as a middleground.

This I know; however I do not have an ethernet cable that stretches that long I am in my room and the modem is in the living room. And I don't have any money right now, I am only 16 and jobless

my advice would be to upgrade to a better router. i ran linksys for a while but picked up a netgear wpn824 rangemax. i run two laptops, 1 desktop and 2 360's wirelessly with minimal lag. 16 and jobless is tough but then again it could be motivation to update your set up.

I'm 14. I can hardly get enough money to buy anything. I'm at 167 dollars working for a Official Windows Refurb. I know how it is, man, but if you can get a job at publix on the weekends, you can do it. Or work around doing odd jobs, like lawn mowing. If you work at CVS, CVS stands for Customer Valued Service.

Hmm, ok I will most likely buy a better router then

Lets see, I can repair computers for money, guess I can do that for awhile. Thank you everyone!

ok - first off - get rid of the PC in the middle - you will NEVER get rid of your NAT problems or lag while your PC is involved.

Second - i would suggest a wireless adapter for your 360 before upgrading your router - I was using a linksys wag54v2 in the past that port-forwarded and gave me open NAT without a problem.

Direct connection is the only way forward - wireless or wired.

As for the money situation - if you wants to play, you've gots to pay.
Look for work, mate.
Get a job.
