Plasmas have much better contrast ratios, response times and picture definition than LCDs any day. | exactly, and for the size/price ratio right now anything in the 37+ inch range a plasma can't be beat. LCD are just way too expensive in that size. Now for smaller screens LCD's are a very nice choice. I think what scares most people (and rightfully so) is just the thought of burn in on such an expensive tv. And dont get me wrong it does happen. But some mistake image retention for burn in. Heck I played some Blitz for too long and had image retention that was noticable (on a blank black screen I could see the turbo bars) just watched tv for 10-15 minutes and it went away no problem
