Posts: 2,000 | It's a good tv but it doesn't do 720p. It only accepts 720p and displays it in 1080i. I mean if it you like it, go for it. Whichever tv you end up getting, please take pics and post them on my show off your 360 setup thread. |

Posts: 183 | We get a lot of those returned at the BestBuy I work at. I only work there a few days a week so I usually don't know why they are returned, but just thought you should know.

Not a terrible television Paymon. Though as mentioned; it is not capable of displaying a progressive format. If in particular you intend on using this for 360 game play (and I think you are), this may be a deal-breaker for you. Quote: |

Posts: 183 | I don't think that is the right analogy. But there is no reason to buy a HDTV that is 4:3. None.

It just makes no sense today to spend money on already outdated technology. I just don't understand it.
As for the aforementioned models;
The Insignia, I wouldn’t buy with your money.
The Magnavox I already mentioned to him looked adequate.
The Philips one is not bad either.
None of them appear to support a progress format though. |

Posts: 2,000 | Some people are on a budget. My HDTV is 4:3 and it's perfectly fine for me. The 360 looks great on it and my DVD movies look great as well. I guess it varies on the person. They next tv I buy will be a widescreen one (whenever that is). Quote: |

Posts: 183 | 99% of customers that come into Best Buy are on a budget. Just like Italia said, no reason to spend money on technology that is already out dated. Get the best WIDESCREEN you can with the money you have, that is the smart thing to do.

That's all I'm saying my friend. If you currently have a tv and are happy with it, god bless you. But if you are in the market for a new tv today, you wouldn't dare go out shopping for a 4:3. ? |

I understand that; and to that I say; then don't go shopping for a high-definition television. Seriously. When I go shopping for a vehicle, and I have a budget, I stay away from my local Ferrari dealership.
The sentence “I have a 4:3 HDTV” in and of itself is a complete oxymoron. There is no such thing and it does not exist. The very existence of HDTV is derived from it’s resolution, which is 16:9 by nature. Those that have a 4:3 tv capable of receiving an HDTV signal are losing a tremendous amount of information and resolution.
This is just meant as informational; not to imply you have an inferior tv Wingman. |
