Default All of a sudden freezing!

I have ahd my 360 since December. I just bought an HD TV with a stand and connected my 360 to it. I noticed that my 360 was generating a lot of heat ever since I put it in the enclosed cubby underneath my TV stand, then today my 360 was freezing like a madman. To make matters worst everytime it froze it made some staticy sounds and verticle dotted lines would be displayed on the screen.

I then proceeded to shut it off for a few minutes, turned it back on and this time it took 30 minutes before it froze again. Since I have not had freezing problems before I am going to let it sit there for a few hours and going to take it away from under the TV stand I hope this correct the situation.

If you have had a similar problem let me know, hopefully my baby won't have to be sent in for repair.

Or you could buy the intercooler and leave it in the stand,it cools the 360 very well and its only $20.I have one to.

Well, I left it alone for a few hours and took it away from the non ventilating TV stand and have been playing it for the last hour. No freeze problems, everything seems to be going normally. Hopefully it was the fact that it wasn't getting any ventilation and it was overheating, cross my fingers that this problem will not re-occur again.

Default Taylor 410 wins!

In all honesty I don't know what is going on with my 360. It did it again as soon as I came home and played it for 10 minutes, it froze and the vertical dotted lines sprouted up again. Since my warranty was up I had to pay $109 http://forums.planetxbox360.com/imag...milies/mad.gif
they are gonna send me a box in a couple of days.

I will be without my 360 for 8-10 days that is $^#$#% UP!
Oh well...

That's impossible. The first manufactuar warrantys (sold on November 22nd) expire in 2 weeks. They extended all warrantys to 6 months.

Exclamation this helped me...

I had three Oblivion disks turn into coasters unfortunately, Best Buy has been cool excahgning these BTW. I even tried exchanging my console once but that didn't resolve my issues. I never moved my console, and it was in a ventilated area but still, the disk drive would quiet down and then I would here a grinding noise and sure enough the disk was getting scratched to hell. On my 4th disk, I decided to try using the Nyko Intercooler to see if the issue was somehow related to heat. I've been playing now for 25+ hrs and have had no disk scratching or game freezing, and I swear it seems that load times have slighlty improved! So, either my first 3 disks had an engineering flaw or the intercooler resolved my issues. No other factors have changed. One theory is that Oblivion is so demanding of the disk drive that it causes massive heat in the console and may slightly warp the disk, just enough to throw it off balance which leads to scratching.

Hope I continue to run problem free!

It was freezing because it was not getting enough air running through it. That is what happens. Just make sure that it is getting enough. The only thing that bothers me about the intercooler is that the fans are running faster then the fans in the 360. I would think that this is not good. It may make the fans inside the 360 run faster then they are designed to run, hence burning them out before there time. I figure if mine is working good, then I am not going to do anything to it. Besides it is made by a 3rd party and not certified by MS.

The intercooler is really nice. I picked mine up last week and Im amazed at how much air it pushes. I wouldnt worry about them making your other fan run faster. I mean maybe if you have a 20'' box fan with a 350 big block running it would screw up the other fan, but three tiny computer fans I dont think are anything to worry about. And even though its made by a third party, they still garuntee (spelling I know, I had a major brainfart) that if their product screws up yours they'll replace it. It fits like a charm, and with weather already hitting 100 degrees, this is a product I was more then willing to buy.
