Default Belkin Wireless G Gaming Adapter!

Does anyone know if the Belkin Wireless G Gaming Adapter will work in place of the Microsoft Wireless Network Adapter?

Wink It will... with a little work...

Just to clarify the mystery with the belkin wireless g gaming router, it does work but you need to go to your network settings set it to manual and manually enter your main routers IP address(default gateway) and so on... to find the addresses that you need to manually enter, on your computer go run - type "command" - then in the command window type "ipconfig". this will give you your: IP address, subnet mask, and your default gateway. you will need to manually enter these numbers in the network settings on the 360. You will also need to change the DNS settings as well. Set the DNS settings to manual just like you did the IP settings. for the primary DNS Server enter your routers IP address(default gateway). If you still have trouble connecting you will need to use the Secondary DNS server IP address as well. This address can be found by contacting your ISP or you can look up your ISP in google or something and find it that way. For example: I use Charter Internet, I googled "DNS Server IP Address for Charter internet". Then i was given a list, found the one i needed, put the number in my 360, tested my xbox live settings and it worked like a CHARM!!

If you are only needing to connect to your network to stream video or pic or music, you will not need the DNS server settings. Your media will work as long as you can get your gaming adapter connected to your network.

Any Questions please feel free to email me, my directions might be a little scrambled. ****teeps1206@gmail.com***

CHECK THE ATTACHMENT THAT I THREW ON AT THE LAST MINUTE... CAME WITH THE DEVICE!!!

Im new at this kinda stuff so Im gonna sound like a nOOb here but here we go. So I get a belkin "broadcaster" (nothing specific?) and the belkin wireless g gamer "reciever"? Then Im all set of live? I will also be using charter in central MA. Any idea what the total cost of these 2 units are? Also Im assuming that they can be bought at Circuit City or Best Buy with out special ordering? Just normal stuff they keep in stock?

Very interesting teeps1206.
I'll have to try that with my Linksy's.
I have an iMac though, but I think I can figure it out.

Since we're on the subject of wireless routers, receivers and such... has anyone or is anyone using this for a wireless connection from their PC/Mac lol to their 360.
eBay: Logitech Play Link Wireless Bridge XBOX 360 LIVE NEW (item 290064984513 end time Dec-26-06 16:28:13 PST)

I bought it and was wondering if it is compatible.

Well it hasn't came in yet so I can't until it does. Just wanted some feedback for anyone who has used it.

Default Hmmm...

Have never heard of that logitech device. Im guessing that it will work for what you are looking for but the easiest way to do it(and im guessing you want to stream from your computer) is to go through the gateway that you already have set up in your house, if you have one. The logitech device seems to make it just easier because they work together like one device separated by a wireless signal. My only concern with it is it can automatically give your 360 the IP addresses that it needs. Be sure to post how your experience goes.

and for Salem...
you can buy those products anywhere from your redneck wal-mart, circuit city, best buy or might i recommend Staples(I work there and let me tell you that the people there, you being kind of a noob, will be able to help you out a ton). You will pay around 150 to 200 for the set-up but it is well worth it! post any problems you have or further Q's...

I got the logitech play link today. Took it out of the box, took me five minutes at max to take everything out and hook everything up. Hooked one to my router and the other one to my Xbox 360. I went to the Test Xbox Live Connection and ran the tests. Everything passed. This thing works perfect. I totally recommend it.

I personally use the Belkin wireless G gaming adapter, and have had absolutely no problems setting it up.works well with my 360. I use it in conjunction with my dlink router. However, if your system is WPA2 secured, you will need to set the adapter up first connecting it to your computer. The hitch is that it wont set up with VISTA.I set mine up using an old laptop running XP. other than that it works just fine.(P.S. it also found my settings automatically just fine)!
