Controller help

Long story short, I have to send in my player one controller for repairs. So, I am using my spare. The problem is, the headset port is screwed. It always detects a wired headset plugged in, but really there isn't. This means my wireless headset will not connect because it thinks I already have a wired one plugged in. I've tried tons of quick fixes but nothing works... Please help!

that's weird, i've never heard of that before. it sounds to me like your only 2 options are sending it back to MS and demanding a new controller. or voiding your warranty by opening it up and seeing if there is anything abnormal going on with the mic part, maybe there is something stuck in there

My initial controller did this too sometimes...... I tookit apart and looked inside and it seemed to have these little metal piece that would touch together on the headset plug when you plugged it in... but mine would touch together on their own and think a headset was in.

I would just grip my controller strong with one hand and tap the other side of the grip into my empty hand pretty forcefully (as if I had a headset plugged in and was trying to make the plug pop out). After 2 or 3 hard taps it would stop detecting and I could plug in my headset and have it work properly. I just assumed that I had to make the little metal pieces seperate so I could plug in my headset normally and it seemed to work. I got tired of fighting my worn controller with drifting thinbsticks so 2 months back I bought a new one. and it's beautiful! no more dodgy aim on Cod4 with drifting thumbsticks.!

That's what I sent in my controller for, the drifty sticks omg talk about overuse.
