Posts: 893   |  Accounts Getting Hacked  My account got hacked this last friday. I went to log on and it said my profile had been moved to another concole. I was like WTF??? I called MS and they said some body in California named Bob had the account. I was so pissed, so I had them freeze my account and they are now investigating it. I had alot of money invested in that account ( downloads for games, arcade live games, and some south park episodes). Man I am so pissed. He went in and erased all my friends too. I cant see how someone could hack into my acoount and steal it. The guy I talked to told me that 4 people had called him already that day and that he just started his shift an hour ago. So be sure to change your password often folks and hopefully your account wont get stollen like mine. Hopefully, Ill get my ReaperMojo account back.

Posts: 893 | Yeah, I would think MS would press charges against anyone who tampers with thier customs accounts. I hope they sue the f$#@ out of his ass..

Posts: 3,834     | that's insane, i always heard people talking about being careful incase someone hacks your account but i never thought it could happen, i'm gonna start changing my msn password regularly so that nobody can recover my GT

Posts: 1,045 | Here's how not to get your password stolen: Don't use the same password on every site, if they steal one site's password, they've stolen them all and just have to try it out to to if it works Don't write down your password Don't save your password on your computer or in one of those password archivers Every single time you log in, thoroughly check the url that's being used to make sure it's not a phishing site Don't tell people your password Don't use passwords that are easy, like qwerty or password Don't use passwords that have your name or the like in them Have an up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware I personally recommend ESET NOD32 with Ad-aware SE Personal Edition Changing your password doesn't necessarily help. I can guarantee that if somebody finds your password, right then and there it's going to be used. If somebody hacks a site and finds a BATCH of passwords, which happens often, they're going to use them and immediately get published to about 30 different forums. All of which generally have over 500 unique visitors daily. If you follow that, I'm 99% sure it won't be YOUR fault if your password is stolen. There are still ways to hack passwords besides that but those would be the site's fault.

Posts: 664 | Personally I think that Microsoft should put a PERMANANT BAN Preventing access to Xbox Live on any console that is used by someone to Recover a Stolen account, Totally cut them off with rude awakening when they try to go live with their next stolen account, Banning the Offending 360 is the best way to protect the lawful customers from the Account Stealers
