Gamertag Recovery/Points Issue

Hello everyone!

I am new to the forums and new to Xbox 360 Live, sadly after having the console since release. Anyway, I seek some help about my gamertag.

Since launch, I have received some points and achievements, but just recently decided to use Xbox Live for some of the games I have. I used the subscription card, and entered my information. When I reached that final "verification" step when registering, it said that the console couldn't connect to Xbox Live. I figured it was no big deal, as I knew that Live had been having some issues since Christmas. Later on though, I was able to complete the process, however it seems that the Xbox has overwritten my old gamertag with this "new" one, and has erased my achievements and points.

Is there anyway to fix this issue?

is it the same exact gamertag or is it a new gamertag? You may have somehow created a new gamertag and applied Gold status to the new one.
If so then recovering the old one is likely possible but you may have to apply gold status to that one seperately.... if somehow your score was reset to zero during the Gold signup process then you have to call customer support and get transferred to the LIVE team and hope that they can do something for you...

If somehow your original account was overwritten during your Gold signup then Live will likely have no record of it and it's just your word that you had one mabye they help and mabye not... more than likely NOT since they have no reason to randomely activate achievements that you claim to have....
