Maybe it was an employee at Microsoft using a different name or something.

The problem with this, is that the person would need to know that their account was stolen and report it to Microsoft BEFORE the hacker downloads the account. Then, if the person tries to download it back onto their own console, they might get banned accidentally. i'm pretty sure that Microsoft tracks each 360 according to it's serial number, how else are they able to ban specific 360's? also it can't be too difficult to track which gamertag account numbers are logging in from a specific console. and it would not be a auto-ban it would need a short review process, So if you have a gamertag thats tied to an address in New York and has credit card info attached that is also tied to New York which is the same address where the actual owner is registered then they all of a sudden call up customer service and the service rep sees that the gamertag is suddenly transferred to texas..... he can initiate that closer review of the suspect console in texas which is harboring the stolen gamertag.... mabye a review of the activity log of that 360 in texas would show that it has had several stolen tags on it and so the Console Ban would be warranted....

Alright yeah, that makes more sense, I guess you just had to explain it more to me. Although the fact remains that keyloggers and the like are unstoppable by Microsoft, especially because their Live! Antivirus is terrible.

you never know, I just hope I get back what I put into the account ( $80 in downloads) if they cant get it back. the supervisor I talk to said most of the time they just terminate the account, because its hard to just take an account from someone and give it to someone else... even if it is thier account.

You need to take what kids say with grain of salt, especially kids who we call hackers or script kiddies. My associates degree is in Computer crime deterrence and my 2 other advanced degrees are in criminal justice. I personally hope they start handing out fines and prison time to hackers. Hacking is the new 21st century warfare.

I don't know what you guys want me to do. I've never had any problems with people before but ever since this Pepper Jack incident people have been getting on my case a lot. Every post I've made on this thread was just to be helpful, but instead I get people telling me to shut up or some random guy named Jacksmith will tear me up, and then I get called a know it all, or a kid trying to be one. WTF

So anyways, they're already doing some pretty harsh stuff to hackers and the like. They do definitely need to step it up though. I think if we started jailing hackers though, prison space could be a problem. Honestly, there are HUGE communities of these guys, usually the smart ones stay away, but that still leaves thousands hanging around these sites. I don't know about where you guys live but here we've had guys let go because there's not enough space in the jail. It's totally ridiculous but it's part of it. a;ldkfjadf fdsa I might post more later, IDK.

How did I at all blame you? I said ever since this Pepper Jack incident people have been getting on my case a lot. I didn't say something like oh Pepper Jack is forming a mass conspiracy against me or anything. I'm just noting the time at which this all started (to me) to help prove that I didn't have this problem before, and so I'm asking why it's happening.

the key is to check you security question on your passport/hotmail account - make sure it's nothing obvious or doesn't contain something mentioned in your profile such as your hometown, mother's maiden, etc..
