XBOX Live Question/Q4 Demo Question

I downloaded the Q4 demo today, but when I try and play a online game, it finds the game fine etc, but then im the only user there, and it says its waiting for other players....

My question is, how do I join someone elses game?

Do I need people on my friend list (not just for the demo, but any game)? Im a first time xbox user and only got my console yesterday, so havent added one yet.

Help!

Well i still have the original xbox so i can tell u how it works on halo for example. but i never played on line with the 360 yet so it could be different. on halo u have friends list and that list shows which friends r on and what they r doing online. u have the choice of joining into a party with your friends or going into matchmaking and in matchmaking the system putts u on a party to play with random people if its not a ranked game, if it is a ranked game then it will putt u with people of the same level or close to the same level as u.

That’s just how halo works I don’t know if Q4 works the same but u should see if this looks familiar.

ummm, how many times have you tried this? you should just wait if its not that many. people come.sometimes it directs you straight to a game that has people.
i can maybe help you by directing you to a game if you give me a freind request

it's probably cos it's a demo, you might find you can only play the single player

well i do know if u have xbox live gold you can play online on the demo

get in the pregame lobby. go to your freinds list and sent some game invites to your freinds. that is if you have any

the same thing happens to me
i think its just the demo though.
