Its mostly the router that people are using, the firewall is slowing down the 360's download. MS should release a program that opens up ports or release their own xbox live capable router. Some ppl have quick downloads that take 20 minutes to download and some have ridicoulous half day downloads.

remember that when setting up xbox live it checks your NAT etc. so i doubt it is that. it's probably how far you are away from the xbox live server that you are downloading from, and your national/international speeds?

Default Distance/country

Perhaps I think the theory about distance AND your countries overseas data rates/caps is true - I have no firewall and tried directly plugging the dsl into the xbox but no change. Im in NZ so im inclined to think for us its our countries OS connection bugger!. ;-).

Now having said that I just downloaded a game demo from OS on the PC and the speed was the usual 2mbit
(243Kb/sec) soooooo um.

i am from NZ also.... god the broadband connections here suck. i just upgraded to '3.5mbit faster, cheaper' and i have to pay more for more upload speed, and my download speed is now 1.8mbit, wtf is up with that....

anyway, imagine the load that is placed on the microsoft servers if everyone is downloading at 2mbit.... insane

Default Slow demo downloads

Yeah like others on this thread my demo download rate is very slow too. I don't have a fancy system- a linksys wireless-g router and the wireless networking adapter, but online matches work fine. It's when I try to download demos its ridiculously slow. Any help?
