Slow Downloads On Xbox Live

Any one got any idea why it is that whatever i go to download of xbox live it takes hours and when others do it it only takes 20mins.

Its been doing this for weeks now and is really annoying me.

well my guess is that your internet is slow, im sure that is it cuz mine used to do that. some days its fast other days its slow and dont work good at all. my dad was a dish network and DSL guy. if im wrong im sorry im jkust tryin to help. good luck with it all

Well im on 2.2mb so theirs no way it could slow down. I cant understand how it would suddenly go very slow i mean its taking the mickey out of people.

yea mines slow too. And when it gets to 75% it boots me from Xbox Live. idk what it is.

My guess is

Xbox Live is very picky with certian internet connections,routers etc

Or Someone is running third party apps that let people disrupt other peoples downloads they dont like or

Someone at Microsoft has commited fraud and stole money that was ment for new servers.

Mine is pretty fast, there is a bottleneck on some of your networks. Maybe the routers you have, have a firewall enabed or something thats filtering the data. MS should release a 360 capatable router that the general customer can purchase so they dont have to mess around with enabling ports and other stuff. I have a 3Mb connection and hopefully my parents cough up the extra $3 a month to upgrade to 6Mb connection. Does anyone know if its 3Megabits or 3 Megabytes. I was always under the impression it was 3Megabits and so the max download is 3000/8 = 375 kilibytes/sec

Mb = Megabit = 100Kilo bytes a second (plus a few kilo bytes)
MB = MegaByte = 1000 Kilo bytes a second (plus a few kilo bytes)

i'm on a 2mbit connection, and it is slow as on xbox marketplace

Yeah my downloads are extremely slow. I woke up this morning at 3:00 to use the bathroom and decided since I was up to download the blazing angles demo so I did. I went back to sleep and a 7:00 I checked it and it was only 75% done. WTF. 4 hours and only 75% done. man this sucks.

yup annoying. at least yours download. Mine do download all the way, they just got to like 75% and it logs me out.

yeah it took me like 1 hour to download Blazing Angels and like 1 hr 30 min two download PGR 3. c'mon M$ do something it sucks specialy cause when you are donwloading you can't do sh#t on your xbox

Its not MS I live in canada and my downloads take like 10 to 20 minutes and I have a 3Megabit connection.

I spent 6 hours downloading the Blazing Angels demo and I hated it. What a waste of time

I don't know if any of you guys tried this, but start downloading someting form marketplace then cancel the download right away. Then start downloading it again, it should shoot up to 50% right away. I don't think it only happens with me, but try it and let me know if it worked for you all.

First off, the trick does nothing. It's a display glitch. You still download the whole thing in the same amount of time; it just appears to be faster. I used a stop watch!
Second off, it's Megabits.
Third off, what's wrong with your connections? I have a 2.5Mb (320K/s) connection, and it took about 45 minutes for the Blazing Angles demo and 1.5 hours on the PGR3 demo. If you’re using wireless, it could be interference. Router might be using QOS, or your ISP could be capping ports.

I got the GRAW demo this morning lightening fast.

I spose that the fact there are lots of people getting new 360s all the time doesnt help speed wise either.

lol @ the people that cancel their downloads and resume it, which makes it go to 50%.... does it make you feel like it is closer to being done? :|
