Default Xbox Live Setup

Ok guys first of all, i'm an xbox newbie so i really have no idea about the online/live setup. So i was wondering, will it be possible to buy a wireless xboxlive adapter or some kind of smart card instead of using wires to connect to the router/modem etc..because my pc is in my room and ill be playing xbox360 on my widescreen tv downstairs and not on the television in my room because it is too small. Thanks for your help.

If you get a Wireless Router and a Wireless Network Adapter you can set it all up and the performance should be just as good as a Wired Network. I suggest using the D-Link GamerLounge Wireless 108G Gaming Router and D-Link GamerLounge Wireless 108AG Gaming Adapter because they are made for gaming so the performance should be great, for more details go to http://games.dlink.com/products/category.asp

That totally depends on your connection, though it should give you the same performance as ethernet cable.

As long as the Router and Adapter aren't really far apart and as long as you have a Broadband Internet Connection and a reasonably fast computer the performance should be great.

Thanks guys, but i already have a linksys 4-port router and a 2meg connection so hopefully i should be alright. I was just asking about the wireless adapter because I didnt want wires running down the stairs and through my house if i wanted to play on my widescreen tv. Oh and heres another question, will i beable to play xbox360 on my monitor?

As long as the router is wireless (it should have an antenna sticking out the top) All you need to do is hook up a wireless adapter to your Xbox and it should work great. And I'm not sure if you can play the 360 on your monitor.

UPDATE: You should get a Linksys Wireless Adapter because it will work better if the Router and Adapter are the same brand, I suggest the Linksys Wireless-G Game Adapter.

My router isn't wireless looks like i'll have to either use my monitor (if i can) or buy a new tv for my room. Don't think my parents would like wires running through the house :P Thanks for your help anyway man.

Live is so simple to set up all you need to do is stick your ethernet cable in the back of your Xbox and fill in your payment details and your online is easy as pie !
