Exclamation COD3 freezing

My first post here. So i bought a used copy of COD3 and checked out the disc, it looked fine so i took it home. 5 minutes into the first level the game severly froze. The screen was stuck on a chopped screen shot, there was a repeating high pitched noise, and there was no response to the controller. I had to push the eject button and then hit the power button just to get it off. I tried the game a second time and the same thing happened. I switched the game for another copy. Before playing i noticed the time was off on the system. It had been reset to a 2005 date. I fixed that and put in the new copy. I managed to play about 3 minutes past where the other froze before this one had the same exact problem. Is there something wrong with my xbox? or is this a common prob for COD3?

First things first!! You BOUGHT CoD3? Thats either extremely brave or extremely stupid!

No I have head nothing about CoD3 freezing, a few months ago when I rented it there was never a single time that it froze. 2 days/9 hours of play later I returned the rental.

Always look very closely at the center of the disc when you are buying Used Games, occasionally there will be tiny and almost invisible hairline stress fractures that can ruin an otherwise mint looking disc, they develop when someone repeatedly takes the game disc out of the 360 while it's still hot/brittle and then click it into it's case stressing the center of the disc to fracture

is this ONLY with the cod3 games?

like elder said, i played the game, online, single player, split screen, etc... never had a problem with it. i have had that problem with another game, jade empire--which i tried to play on the 360, but never with a 360 game itself. i got my cod3 used as well.

i know everything i just said is absolutely no help to you. so sorry.
