Default Xbox Live Wireless Adapter Help

Right, just today I bought a Wireless Adapter for my Xbox and before this I was using the ethernet cable from my laptop to my 360. Anyway I have plugged it into the Xbox and hooked it on and made sure the antenna is up. I then went to "Edit Settings" in the system tab and clicked on Wireless Mode at the bottom and when it searched and my Wireless Connection came up, I clicked on that and entered my WEP key correctly. Then after that, it comes up with test media and LIVE connection etc and I click on LIVE; everything passes, but once it gets to IP it says it fails

I look on my adapter at the back and the green light is on.

So does anyone know why it is failing at IP and how can I fix it

Thanks so much, help will be greatly appreciated

So you're saying you have a wireless network and the adapter is connecting to it. Hmm, sounds kinda fishy. Might be the ISP. Sorry dude, that's all I can think up.

Call the Customer Support line and make them walk you through installation.

You're adapter is unable to obtain an Ip from your Router/Gateway - you need to check the following in you Router menu. This is usually accessed by going to 192.168.0.1 on your browser but can also be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 -check you router instructions. Verify:

Wireless is enabled
Universal plug-and-play is enabled
DHCP is enabled
DHCP pool is specified (a range such as 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.99)
Ensure X360 is set for dynamic IP (automatic)

You should also check to see if your wireless signal is strong enough in the room your xbox is located - this can be checked with a laptop (if you don't have one, find a mate with one)

Finally - if you have any devices using 2.4 gigahertz in your house - turn them off. This includes video senders and some cordless phones.
